Saturday, September 5, 10:00 am – 11:30 am TEATOWN HISTORY HUNT

ALL WELCOME. Not suitable for children under 8. Using a map and clues, discover the

natural and human history of Teatown. Part quest, part hike, this program will have you knee

deep in fascinating facts about the local landscape.

Saturday, Sept. 12, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm HOOK MOUNTAIN MIGRATION

ADULTS ONLY. Hike with a naturalist to the top of Hook Mountain for a bird’s eye view of

Haverstraw Bay, the Tappan Zee and points south. While there, watch as broad winged hawks

move past on their annual migration. Car pooling to the trailhead may be necessary. Part of

Hudson River Valley Ramble.* M/free; NM/$8.

Saturday September 19, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm INSECTS: GOOD, BAD AND BUGGY!

ALL WELCOME. What good are insects? What’s bad about bugs? Pick up a net and join in to

investigate the world of incredible insects.

Sunday, September 20, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm CANOE THE CROTON

ADULTS ONLY. From the tidal waters of Croton Bay to the rapids that block upstream

passage, the Croton River is a scenic gem. Paddling up the river against the tide and current

through high cliffs, get away from it all without going very far at all. Fee: $15/per person, two

person limit per boat. Meet at Teatown to carpool to Croton boat ramp. Part of Hudson River

Valley Ramble.*

Sunday, September 27, 11 am – 12:00 noon STORY SUNDAYS: A Seed is Sleepy

CHILDREN. Appropriate for 4 – 7 year olds accompanied by

an adult. Join us for stories and activities about nature,

animals and ecology.
